State and local government funding has been announced to construct 12km of rail trail between Mansfield and Maindample.

Construction of the long awaited bridge over the Maroondah Highway at Lilydale is expected to commence Mid 2009

A public meeting will be held on Sunday 1st February to gauge community interest in establishing a rail trail along the old Bethania-Beaudesert railway line.

The South Australian state government has announced $1 million in funding to build the first stage of this rail trail.

A severe bushfire at the start of February has burnt out two major bridges on this rail trail.

This annual fun run will be held This Sunday 22nd Feburary 2009 to aid the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund.

Following the progress made since the first meeting a second public meeting will be held on Sunday 5th April to help establish a rail trail along the old Bethania-Beaudesert railway line.

The Blue Mountains City Council is seeking consultant proposals to conduct a feasibility study on this 13km trail.

Anthony Albanese, Minister for Infrastructure, Regional Development and Local Government, was in Tallarook to inspect plans for the $14.2 million Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail.

A grant has been made available for the Rail Trail which will connect this town with two sections of local MTB tracks. Eventually this south western Victoria Rail Trail will connect to Birregurra.

The NSW Government has introduced legislation to enable the construction of rail trails, a major step forward. But this legislation is facing opposition and your expressions of support are needed.

Do you want to do some timber bridge work? Restoration of the 183m long timber bridge over the Curdies River is almost complete and volunteers are needed to help in the last phase.
