The Bicycling Australia Show was held in Melbourne last month. There was a good Rail trails presence at the show.

The first Trains'n'Timber Festival was held on 2nd and 3rd November. At the festival an announcement was received from Minister Sherryl Garbutt giving approval for the creation of a rail trail from Shelley to Keotong.

The Minister for Environment and Heritage, the Hon Judy Edwards, launched the construction and funding of the first phase of the new Munda Biddi Mountain Bike Trail on Saturday 15 December. The trail alignment follows hundreds of kilometres of disused railway formations.
