Bendigo to Axedale Rail Trail (Vic)

Support is growing for an extension of the Bendigo to Axedale Rail Trail. The trail currently follows part of the cross-country branch line that ran from Bendigo via Heathcote to join the main Melbourne to Sydney line near Kilmore.
City of Greater Bendigo councillor Greg Williams points out the benefits to the area of extending the trail Heathcote and Kilmore, suggesting - based on the success of the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail - that the trail could generate $1 million for the area.
