Goulburn to Crookwell Rail Trail (NSW)
19 February 2004
The Goulburn to Crookwell Railway was opened in 1902, with special excursions for the Crookwell Show in March that year. Cattle and sheep were the main source of traffic, however super-phosphate became the main source in the later years. The last train (steam hauled special tour) occurred in 1985 the line has since fallen into disuse.
The proposal is to develop a multi-purpose recreational rail trail, suitable for use by all, particularly cyclists, walkers and horse riders, utilising the closed railway corridor between Goulburn and Crookwell.
The proposal is currely in the early stages. We will post updates as it progresses.
