On Sunday 14th January 2007 the South Gippsland Tourist Railway is having a special day in conjunction with the Great Southern Rail Trail.

Landcare is offering Grassroots funding with applications closing 28th Feb 2007. The Department of Infrasturcture is offering Local Area Access Program grants later this year

The Heritage Council of the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency has nominated this 5km former railway line for heritage listing.

All descriptions for these two states have been updated over the last few months.

Bicycle Victoria has organised this day for Sunday 4 March 2007, which includes two rail trails.

The Queensland Government has announced this funding to fully develop this rail trail west of Brisbane.

The new edition of our guide book Rail Trails of Victoria and South Australia is now back from the printers.

The Gundagai Shire Council is seeking comments on a proposal for a rail trail centred on the town until the 10th August 2007.

This new 19km rail trail is being officially opened on Sunday 19th August 2007.

A public meeting will be held at Merrilands Hall in Atherton on Tuesday 28th of August 2007 from 6pm to 8pm.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 11th September at 7.30 pm at the Forrest Hall to gauge support for this possible rail trail

Railtrails Australia is seeking photographs for a calendar featuring rail trails across Australia for 2008. Closing date is October 14th 2007.

A steering committee has been formed to consult with community for the establishment of a rail trail.

The Cycle Tourism Conference will be held at Sydney Olympic Park, 18th and 19th October, 2007.

The Moore to Linville section of this rail trail will be officially opened on Sunday 25th November at 9:30am. A draft plan for the rail trail will also open for public consultation

The Annual General Meeting will be held 7pm Friday 9th November 2007 in Melbourne and followed by a video presentation on rail trails in Queensland.

The first AGM for this committee supporting the development of this rail trail will be held on Monday 19th November at Balhannah.

The first state-government funded section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail was opened on Sunday 25 November 2007 at Moore.

A new tourist interpretation shelter will be officially opened at Wandin on Saturday 16 June.
