Alexander McCooke Location: Yarra Valley, 40km from Melbourne Start/end: Lilydale to Warburton Region: Melbourne Metropolitan, Victoria Length open: 40km Surface: Gravel Lilydale to Millgrove, sealed Millgrove to Warburton DescriptionWith a backdrop of mountains including Yarra Ranges National Park this trail passes through a scenic landscape following the Yarra River valley. There are plenty of good places to stay and good things to consume in the region’s cafes, pubs, wineries and restaurants. Starting at the Lilydale end is awkward as the trail finishes on a steep embankment right on the busy Maroonday Highway.
