Recent users of rail trails may be forgiven for thinking that rail trails have been around for ever but in fact they are only a recent phenomena.
In 1994 there were virtually no rail trails in Australia when the ground breaking Victorian Government's Rail Trails program was launched and Railtrails Australia was there from the beginning.
And so was our newsletter, recording the initial proposals then the developments as rail trail development spread across Australia.
The archive is on disk and consists of 55 newsletters from 1994 to Autumn 2008. You can search the entire archive to find items or people of interest.
