Description

The trail follows the shore of Wilson Inlet between Denmark River and Crusoe Beach Road before swinging inland to finish at the South Coast Highway. The trail passes through a range of coastal vegetation and offers beautiful views over the inlet. There is access to a couple of beaches along the way.

The trail joins Rudgyard Place (a minor dirt road) for a short distance. As at October 2006, the section of the trail between Crusoe Beach Road and the highway had only been opened for a short time and the surface was a little rough.

The inlet has an area of about 48 square kilometres. A sand bar forms at the mouth of the inlet meaning that for much of the year the inlet is isolated from the sea.

The trail links with the Denmark - Nornalup rail trail at Denmark. These trails may eventually become part of the Munda Biddi Trail when it is extended to Albany depending on the route that is selected.

The trail follows the route of the the Denmark - Nornalup railway opened in stages between 1889-1929 and closed in 1957.

The trail is managed by the Denmark Shire.
