Description

This trail is partially open - it is still being developed.

A short section of the former narrow gauge railway between Laura and Gladstone has been converted into a trail. The trail runs beside the main road starting at the information bay on the southern side of Laura.

A local community group is proposing the development of the full 88km between Gladstone and Wilmington, in the Flinders Ranges.

Southern Flinders Ranges is looking into developing the 23km Melrose Wilmington section.

This former narrow gauge railway opened to Laura in 1884 and reached Wilmington in 1915. It was closed in 1990.
