A new replacement bridge on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail at Esk was opened on the 18 May 2013 between the Esk show grounds and the Esk Station Site.
The original bridge wash washed away in the January 2011 Floods and this made this section of this trail very dangerous as the trail was diverted onto a busy road.
The Original Bridge was built in 1886 and was in use till 1989 when the line closed.
The new bridge was built with funds (75% Federal / 25% State Gov.) from the Natural Disaster Releif and Recovery Program and is a great boost for the BVRT and thank both the Governments for there assistance
