This has been cancelled. Possibly rescheduled for weekend 25-27 September.

Be part of history at the opening of NSW's first rail trail on a government corridor. The official opening is confirmed for 3 April 2020, with a day of family-friendly activities along the trail on 4 April

Other states in Australia have had rail trails established for some years. The Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail opening is definitely a landmark event for NSW rail trails, and Rail Trails Australia anticipates that its opening will spur other trail developments across NSW.

For details of the opening days' programs, go to:  Tumbarumba Opening Invitation - Snowy Valleys Council.

After the official opening on Friday, Saturday 4 April is a family funday starting at 8.30am with brunch available before riding/walking/scootering/running towards Rosewood. Buses and bike trailers will be available to pick you up if you get too tired.
Food, coffee vans and information stalls will be set up at Rosewood all day Saturday at the end of the rail trail and a market day at Gone Barny.

If you are attending the opening event on 3 April 2020, please ensure you RSVP to the Snowy Valleys Council for catering purposes: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Rail Trails Australia encourages year-round visitation to NSW's newest rail trail.

The rail trail will be a big help to this bushfire ravaged region. Make sure you stop at nearby Tumut and especially hard hit Batlow along the way. Buy a drink, get a meal and let people know you are on your way to the Tumba Rail Trail.
