Cyclists, walkers and riders who visit the Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail in future will be able to enjoy a new twenty kilometre adjoining trail thanks to $4.5m in funding from the Victorian Government.
According to Corangamite Shire, the Twelve Apostles Trail, which stretches from Timboon to Port Campbell, is a project fifteen years in the making. The Victorian Government funding complements $2.22m allocated in Corangamite Shire’s budget.
Some other important information for this rail trail is that following bushfires in the Western District of Victoria in 2018, the Camperdown to Naroghid Rd section of the Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail was closed and users were required to use the busy highway adjacent to the rail. This section of the rail trail is now available for the enjoyment of cyclists and walkers.
