On 28 November the station sign for Barongarook was installed at the old station site. A sausage sizzle and small fair was held in conjunction with this at the local hall. Well attended by locals and some visitors to the area. The following tuesday the local Gellibrand township was bombarded with some 8000 cyclists from Bicycle Australia on their annual "Great Victorian Bike Ride". Gellibrand usually has a population of 200 souls so the impact on the village would have been quite staggering. A fair number of the cyclists would have cycled sections of the Old Beeacy trail that are open in the area. Early in 2005 the Committee of Management say that there will be an official opening of constructed sections of the trail.
