The Adelaide Hills Council is interested in hearing from the Adelaide Hills Community and those who use the bike infrastructure within the Council area. This includes the Amy Gillett Rail Trail and the trails that connect with it.
The Council survey seeks to understand what cyclists want and need to be able to ride within the Council area. The overarching goal is to remove barriers and provide opportunities that encourage riding or walking. Completion of the Amy Gillett Rail Trail, in conjunction with the Barossa Council, from Birdwood to Mount Pleasant, is an example of an opportunity to encourage riding and walking.
If you use the Amy Gillett Rail Trail or any other trail or path within the Council area, please consider completing the Council survey.
The closing date for completion of survey is 2 October 2024.

Great to hear that the trail will be extended to Birdwood and then onto Mount Pleasant. But when?????
A trail from Mount Pleasant to Angaston would also be a excellent extension.
Adelaide would then have one of the greatest offroad trails in Australia and New Zealand.
Cyclist could then ride from the city of Adelaide to Balhannah – Mt. Torrens – Birdwood – Mount Pleasant – Angaston – Nuriootpa – Gawler – Adelaide. All in a safe manner.
Local businesses and accommodation would be used by cyclists over a number of days.
This trail would then match the trail Mount Cook to Omamara in the South Island of New Zealand (308 kms) done in 4 days – which I have personally ridden.
Let,s get on with it all.
Rick,
Its Mt Cook to Oamaru on the coast. A2O
Omarama is nearly halfway along the 308 km ride.
I agree lets get on with it.
