Bass Coast Rail Trail Update (Vic)
Final surfacing works are about to commence on the trail. These will provide a good gravel surface the total distance. Works are also underway to ensure wheelchair access through the existing bollards.
The Mitchell Mine area has now been included as part of a work for the dole program so hopefully this will make the whole area look more attractive.
The trail is also looking at installing a car park at the South Dudley end of the trail next to the Wonthaggi Pony Club to encourage people to keep the trail area clear for users.
The trail is becoming more and more popular with all users from cyclists to walkers to horse riders, with recent newspaper coverage in the travel section of the Herald Sun.
