Register for news updatesCharity Ride Explores NSW and QLD Rail Trails This July
Fundraisers are hitting rail trails in New South Wales and Queensland to raise funds for research for rare ovarian cancer.
Rare Ovarian Cancer Incorporated (ROC inc) are partnering with Monash University’s Hudson Institute of Medical Research to provide ground breaking research under the guidance of Associate Professor Simon Chu. The goal is to find a cure for this disease that affects girls and women of all ages.
Ride For Research (R4R), led by Peter Reaburn, has generated over $400,000 for Rare Ovarian Cancer from charity bike rides in 2022 and 2024.
Riders in this year’s charity event have a goal of raising over $100,000 over a series of rides to bring the series’ total to $500,000.
The rides include a 48 km social rail trail event exploring the Northern Rivers Rail Trail (NRRT) on Saturday 27 June 2026 (spots still available, or donate to riders here)
A sold out five-day event called the Great Queensland Rail Trail Adventure (GQRTA) will see cyclists ride 600 km from Gladstone in QLD to Brisbane, via 3 historic Queensland Rail Trails (BBIRT, KKRT & BVRT)!
