Rail Trail Australia’s (RTA) Community Grants program 2026-2027 is open and taking applications now.
The scope and funds pool has increased for this round, and rail-trail-related community organisations are encouraged to apply for small (up to $2000) or large (up to $10,000) grants.
In previous rounds, successful groups have built and installed water taps on their rail trail, had marquees printed with their logos to promote their rail trail at community events (pictured below), and commissioned local artists to create mosaics and signage to highlight the natural environment. What idea can your group come up with to improve your local rail trail?
To help with the process, RTA’s Grants Team will be holding a Grants Information Session on Teams at 7:30pm (AEST) on Thursday 20 August 2026. Register your interest by emailing gr****@************rg.au and we’ll email you the meeting link.
If you have an idea that you think will improve your local rail trail, read the Information Pack and get your application in!
Applications close 30 September 2026 and selected projects must be completed by 30 June 2027.
