Cycling and Walking on the Rail Reserve between Hamilton and Wannon Falls.
A hybrid or mountain bike is recommended. No dogs or horses permitted, and please leave gates as you find them.
Time: From 9am to start walking and 10am for cyclists – with lunch at the Wannon Falls.
Start: At Balkin’s Rd crossing. Cars can be parked under the pine trees on the intersection of Fairburn’s Rd and the Glenelg Highway. Then ride 1.8km down Balkin’s Rd to the start of the ride on the rail reserve.
Lunch: 12.30 to 2pm at the picnic shelter near the Falls. An esky can be left at the start to be delivered to Wannon for lunch.
Transpor options: Ride back to Hamilton along the trail. Or there will be a trailer and vehicle transport at the Wannon Reserve to take all bikes (and ridesr) that need it back to Hamilton or the starting point after 2pm. A shuttle car is available to transport walkers back to their cars.
