Rail Trails Australia (RTA) has opened early-bird registration for the 2026 Rail Trails Conference to be held in Canberra on Friday 6 November.
This year’s theme is “Exploring Successes and Opportunities of Rail Trails.”
RTA invites anyone with an interest in rail trails to attend: from politicians, “Friends of” group members, rail trail committee members, businesses that benefit from rail trails, and rail trails users. As well as showcasing an excellent array of speakers (see program), the 2026 conference offers people the opportunity to meet and chat rail trails with fellow enthusiasts.
Early-bird conference pricing ($115) is on offer until 31 August, when the conference cost is $130. Current RTA members have a 10% discount – sign into your RTA account when you register to access. If you’re not a member, memberships start from $20 here.
Lunch, morning and afternoon tea is provided, and the first 55 people to register their attendance will receive a 100% altis gravel helmet (to be collected at the conference). Please find out more and register here.
A dinner ($70) follows Friday’s conference and AGM, and there will be a rail trail-related event on Saturday 7 November.

HI, I am looking forward to attending my first conference. I will be bringing a few bikes as I am sure many people will be. I would like to take up the offer of cheap parking, but as I transport my bikes on the roof of my car, will they fit in the undercover parking area?
