The catchily-named Eastern Dandenong Ranges Trail will have its 800m extension from Edenmont Rd to Belgrave-Gembrook Rd ready in time for winter. There’s been a “goat track” along this section for some time but it’s not suitable for wet weather. The $300,000 works, which include a wooden fence at the Clematis Station shed, wayfinding signage and “pram crossings” at both ends, are due to be finished in three or four weeks, according to Cardinia Shire Council.
Across Belgrave-Gembrook Rd, Yarra Ranges Council has completed its sealing of Menzies Rd so getting from Menzies Creek to the trail has become a whole lot easier. Providing improved crossings of Belgrave-Gembrook Rd along the trail remains the responsibility of the Department of Transport and Planning. The trail is a popular one for fans of the Puffing Billy Railway.

I think it's Edenmont Rd, not Edenhope Rd.
