South Gippsland Landcare Network is hosting their third Pedal & Plant event in Nyora, on Victoria’s Great Southern Rail Trail, on Sunday 26 July.
Pedal & Plant is a free community event where rail trail lovers are invited to walk, ride, run and help plant habitat along the rail trail. Volunteers aim to plant 1500 trees along the rail trail as part of National Tree Day. The Rotary Club of Korumburra will be providing a free sausage sizzle.
When: Planting will take place between 10:30am-12:30pm, Sunday 26 July
Meet: The site is located behind, and accessible via, the Nyora Recreation Reserve, Grundy Avenue, Nyora
Please bring: BYO gloves, sturdy, closed-toe shoes, water bottles, sunscreen and insect repellent
Elsewhere on the Great Southern Rail Trail, Corner Inlet Landcare, with support from donations and the South Gippsland Shire Council, are getting closer to connecting 2 patches of vegetation from Charity Lane towards Bennison, making a biolink for animals and people. Join them at Charity Lane from 10:00am-1pm, Sunday 26 July, to help plant more trees!
