Rail Trails Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of David Willcox as our first representative for West Australia.
This will enable us to provide more up to date information on rail trails in this state and better assist the improvement of the rail trail network there. We are also in te process of getting one other representative for West Australia.
David is a passionate trail advocate and lives in Margaret River so obviously has a greater interest in the Busselton to Flinders Bay Rail Trail. Some other points about David include
One of David’s main reasons for volunteering for this role is his desire to get more people outdoors connecting with natural landscapes. One important way to do this is make rail trails more accessible to the wider population, an important goal of Rail Trails Australia.
We welcome David and if you are associated with a rail trail in West Australia he can be contacted on dwillcox@railtrails.org.au.
A complete list of state representatives can be found at Contact Us under the Contacts tab.
We are still looking for representative for South Australia and particulalry Tasmania. Along with enthusiasm to see the potential of rail trails in these states really develop; the other prerequisites are a reasonable internet connection and basic computing skills. Benefits include visibly helping the rail trail network and we have all found it quite inspiring to be involved with the many organisations that manage or assist rail trails, many of whom are voluntary.
