As we wait for the legislation to go through NSW parliament for Tweed Valley Rail Trail corridor to be transfered to crown land, the Casino to Bentley section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail (NRRT) moved a step closer to becoming a reality.

Over an extended period, Tallangatta and Bonegilla High Country Rail Trail volunteers and staff from Parklands Albury Wodonga have been working on a project to enhance the experience of trail users.

Users of the Bellarine Rail Trail in Victoria are relieved to see the completion of the new Drysdale Bypass road project.

The Wakefield Regional Council in the mid north of South Australia, has opened the 26km Copper Rail Trail from Port Wakefield to Balaklava. This trail will link with the existing 11km Shamus Liptrot Rail Trail and an 18km trail along backroads to Leasingham on the Riesling Rail Trail.

The three councils responsible for the Great Victorian Rail Trail (GVRT) have engaged with Tourism North East to deliver a Strategic Development Plan for this iconic rail trail.

With the success of the nearby Tumbarumba to Rosewood rail trail in attracting tourists now clear, business owners and local stakeholders headed by the Batlow Development League gathered in Batlow on 17 June 2020 to promote the next steps in developing their long-awaited rail trail to Tumut.

A new extension to the Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail will provide safe and convenient access for pedestrians and cyclists through Station Quarter, linking the trail from Braithwaite street to the Yeppoon foreshore.

Cessnock City Council (CCC) recently released their Trails Strategy. The Strategy was developed by CCC and by Tredwell Management to "provide a vision for the region’s trails network with a consistent policy framework to guide development and management of trails across the Local Government Area (LGA)".

Lake Macquarie and Newcastle City Councils are showing what can be done when it comes to building great facilities, including rail trails, for cyclists.
