Golden Plains Shire Council has secured a $500,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund to deliver the Three Trails Project.

The District Council of Mount Remarkable will match the South Australian Governments Opens Space and Places for People Grant of $100,000 toward the expansion of the Southern Flinders Ranges Rail Trail from Melrose to Booleroo Centre.

The NSW Government Department of Planning, Industry and Environment has announced a $75,000 funding boost towards the Richmond Vale Rail Trail Project, west of Newcastle in NSW.

The City of Kalamunda has announced they will be closing the Kalamunda Zig Zag scenic drive to vehicles from 30 May 2020. The closure will initially be a six month trial which will be used to gauge community support.

After nearly two decades of hard work by the community, the 21km rail trail officially opened today – the first rail trail on a government corridor in NSW.
