Approximately 13.5km of trail has been developed as a multi-use trail for walking, cycling and horse riding.

Extensive renovation work has commenced on the Nimmons Bridge.

The Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail at Yarra Junction will be the venue for a new art and environment project.

The first Trains'n'Timber Festival was held on 2nd and 3rd November. At the festival an announcement was received from Minister Sherryl Garbutt giving approval for the creation of a rail trail from Shelley to Keotong.
