Future Sections
The 39 km from Yeppoon Golf Course to Nerimbera passes through flat bushland to Cawarral, then becomes more hilly and winding to Mt Chalmers and Mt Nicholson stations toward Rockhampton.
The 9.5km from Nerimbera to Rockhampton railway is still in use. An on-road path or railside trail could be constructed; there is certainly a precedent in Rockhampton, where main line trains run down the main street!
The Queensland Government is looking at proposals to develop the Yeppoon Station precinct area this as a focal point for the rail trail and the town.
Livingstone Regional Council and Queensland Transport and Main Roads are reviewing options to cross the busy Rockhampton-Yeppoon road so the rail trail can be extended to Cawarral. The trail will link several proposed residential and tourism developments.

One review of “Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail”
What a great little sealed trail for locals and visitors. Interesting history at the start and quite a scenic ride albeit short.
