The Festival is Queensland’s only festival focussing major events around the towns’ Rail Trail. The
Bloomin Beautiful Blackbutt Festival celebrates the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and the economic
benefits it provides not only Blackbutt, but the South Burnett.
Smack bang in the middle of the completed 47km section between Moore and Yarraman, the festival will
showcase the best of outdoor recreation and why ‘this trail is so important to the region.
On Saturday, the Blackbutt Showground’s will host the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Outdoor Expo. Market
stalls, demonstrations and exhibitors will feature from 9am – 3pm showcasing the best of the great outdoors.
The annual BVRT bird walk with Valdamay Jones of Birds Queensland. will depart Nukku Nook (trailhead)
heading out along the trail at 3pm.
Sunday 9 September sees the rail trail at its best bringing people from far and wide to Blackbutt and the
South Burnett to use the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Registrations from 7am open for the PCYC 31km rail trail challenge for mountain bikes and bush runners.
Particpatans will head south on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and back to Blackbutt on the Allery Trail.
The South Burnett Regional Council and the Heart Foundation are hosting Benarkin and Back an 8km
walk to see the public art on the trail and DOGS are most definately invited.
The South Burnett Trail Horse Riders are hosting a 25km horse trail ride heading north along the rail trail to
the old Gilla station site and back to Blackbutt on the Ogilvy Trail.
The Blackbutt Heritage and Tourism Association will have the Nukku Nook open for viewing with an
exhibition – From Train Track to Walking Track with morning tea at 11.30am on Saturday 8th.
And to top it all off, free trackless train rides along the trail all weekend!
Please assist and support this major event on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail to show our
representatives in State Government that these projects are needed and provide economic benefits
to the South Burnett.

All these activities will be accessible to all with a free community shuttle bus between all venues running
every 15 minutes.
