The 16th annual Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run will be held on Sunday, 8 July 2018.
This annual event, an initiative of Somerset Regional Council, is about enjoying the great outdoors with family, friends or work colleagues and most of all, having fun
The Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run will take place on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail between Lowood and Fernvale. The running/walking course is an 8km track of disused rail corridor and is ideal for amateurs, professional athletes, and parents with strollers.
Participants will have the choice of participating in either an 8km or 3km run or 25km bicycle event which allow them to take in the breathtaking views of the Brisbane Valley, Brisbane River and historic rail trail.
Amateurs, professional athletes, and families that just want to enjoy a gentle ride along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail can take part in the 25km bicycle ride which will start at Lowood travel out to Wanora and return to Fernvale.
Shuttle bus transport will be available between various locations.

Online registrations for all events are available until 11.59am on Saturday, 7 July
Late registrations for the 8km and 3km Run/Walk can be made between 7am and 8am on Sunday, 8 July at Lowood Customer Service Centre and Library, 1 Michel Street, Lowood.
Race packs for the 8km and 3km Run/Walk can be collected from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, 7 July at the Lowood Customer Service Centre and Library, 1 Michel Street, Lowood or between 7am and 8.30am on Sunday, 8 July from the 8km starting point in Clock Park, Peace Street, Lowood.
Race packs for the Bicycle Event can be collected from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, 7 July from Lowood Customer Service Centre and Library, 1 Michel Street, Lowood or between 7am and 7.45am on Sunday, 8 July from the 25km/8km starting point in Clock Park, Peace Street, Lowood.
8km Run/Walk Event
The 8km event meanders through the beautiful Brisbane Valley, along the historic rail corridor. Starting at 9am, this event will start at Clock Park, Peace Street, Lowood and finish at the Fernvale Sports Park, Brouff Road, Fernvale.
3km Run/Walk Event
Also starting at 9am, the start point for this shortened course is located along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail off Old Fernvale Road, between Fernvale and Lowood. Please note that there is no parking at the 3km start, participants will be required to catch a shuttle service to the start point.
25km Bicycle Event
Starting at 8am from Clock Park, Peace Street, Lowood the bicycle ride will allow riders to enjoy a gentle ride along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail which will travel out to Wanora and return to Fernvale.
