The Guardian newspaper has picked up on the story of what could become Australia’s longest rail trail: the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail.
In a long feature article, with an almost equally long heading: Cycling tourism is the next big thing’: the long journey to restore a central Queensland rail trail, journalist Joe Hinchliffe looks in great detail at just how this rail trail could bring back money into the Boyne Valley. He talks to locals including former Rail Trails Australia regional representative, and now Grand Hotel Many Peaks publican and RTA advertiser, Desley O’Grady, about what the development of the trail means to them. Issue #162 of Outback Magazine also featured the story.
