Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) celebrated the opening of its new $970,000 Four Mile Scrub to Boynedale Bush Camp Rail Trail, alongside the Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing, Minister for Water, and Member for Gladstone, Glenn Butcher.
The rail trail, which runs from Four Mile Scrub to the popular Boynedale Bush Camp in central Queensland, is a 6-kilometre stretch of decommissioned rail corridor that forms part of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail network.
The delivery of the Four Mile Scrub to Boynedale Bush Camp Rail Trail forms part of GAWB’s broader Lake Awoonga Recreational Strategy, a $7 million investment into outdoor recreation projects from 2020 to 2025, developed in partnership with GAWB’s Community Consultation Forum.
