IMPORTANT UPDATE CYCLIST INFORMATION SYDNEY WATER COMO BRIDGE WORKS
ABRASIVE SURFACE FROM WEDNESDAY 26 AUGUST TO NOVEMBER 2009
Sydney Water is upgrading part of the infrastructure of the Como Bridge in Como, to ensure the continued reliability of the structure into the future.
To ensure the safety of pedestrians, cyclist and crew, it is necessary for cyclists to obey signage and dismount before entering onto the bridge.
The next phase of works requires an abrasive surface to be laid. This surface may cause damage to tyres when riding, dismounting your bike will ensure that no damage is done. After the project is complete the surface will then be prepared for regular use. As the deck renewal continues, access to the bridge will be unavailable intermittently for three progressive days, during the following time:
• 8 am to 5 pm
Signage for this work will be erected 3 days prior to any closure.
Outside of the above hours, the bridge will remain open to allow commuter access and weekend recreational access.
CYCLISTS ARE ASKED TO CONTINUE TO DISMOUNT UNTIL THE PROJECT IS COMPLETED.
