I've now had a chance to view the route albeit from various roads This route has real potential meandering through shallow valleys and some lightly timbered areas and with some great bridges if they can be safely retained. There are still lengthy patches without canopy. A suggestion is that the 1st response once the project is deemed viable is for a planting bee to put in lots, many thousands even, of trees to be established, if not fully grown from operating Day 1. I'm sure many devotees of future rail trails would volunteer for a fun weekend creating future shade. Accommodation for the route shouldn't just focus on Mudgee. Rylstone and Gulgong should benefit too. I'm already hanging out for the sustenance coming from the coffee shop on Lue Station.

I would welcome this proposed trail especially as there are not many trails in NSW and this is much closer to home than Victorian or Queensland trails. I usually travel with a group of 20-30 cyclists, we stay in local accommodation and spend money in the regions.

We’ve enjoyed riding in Europe and New Zealand, but as always love Australia the best. Planning to come north to the BVRT in QLD and the Northern Rivers in NSW

I am a member of Illawarra Ramblers and a Member of Bicycles NSW. I would support the new trail. They are normally about 34 members that would travel to the area in support from Wollongong. Keep up the great rail trail growth 💪

It would be great not to have to travel the Qld or Vic, as we do now, to ride rail trails. This proposed trail goes through some great area’s. One thing that needs to be considered is accomodation.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail has camping at most of the main stations as well as other kind of accomodation like pubs and motels. This is important to appeal to people like us who want to have a base and ride the trail in sections.

We are cyclists from NZ and recently biked the East Gippsland Trail (10 of us) from Bairnsdale to Orbost down to Marlo then back via Lake Entrance to Bairnsdale. We actually bike from Stratford on the road as no trail which it would be amazing if there was one. Prior to this we did our own version of 'Around the Bays'.
Feedback: We are always looking to fly to Australia to do more trails and like it when they all link up and we can be biking for about 10-14 days so any new trail is a good thing. We used to camp a lot but no stay in accommodation with van support for luggage. Average distance biking 45km to 60km on a trail so accommodation has to work along the way for our king of riding.

What a great rail trail, fantastic way to inject more money into the local businesses supporting the tourism industry in the area. This is a must! It can also be used as an extension to the Central West Trail.
Hopefully one day the old rail line between Craboon at Dunedoo to Coolah could be opened as a rail trail too.

NSW desperately needs more Rail Trails and this one makes sense to link in with the excellent cycling country of the Central West and Gulgong to Mudgee. We have enjoyed all the trails in Victoria, SA and many in Queensland, but environmentally, it would be great to not have to drive out of our state to access comparable experiences.
