IT’S FREE so come along on Monday 18 November and join Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail and Heytesbury District Landcare Network as they combine to share some weed care and management tips with the local Cobden community and also give people a chance to apply their new learned skills.
The free event, commencing at 5 pm at the McKenzie St exit of the rail trail, starts with a guided walk and talk by Ammie Jackson themed on “What weeds can you eat?” and will conclude at the Cobden Golf Club with a free community barbeque starting at 6pm.
The groups hope to build a sense of ownership and pride in their rail trail as well as share some useful information right now when weeds are currently almost jumping out of the ground.
So come along and see what you should Spray, Graze or Eat as you stroll along the beautiful Camperdown-Timboon rail trail. Keep your eyes open for other opportunities to connect with your local rail Trail. For more details call Heytesbury District Landcare Network on 03 5598 3755 or keep an eye on Facebook.

One comment on “Free event on Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail”
Born at Camperdown Vict, raised in the nearby Gnotuk area, Attended local schools. As a local Camperdown "Cub" and "Scout" camped at the large tresle bridge at Curdies (River) explored?? the local lime works and walked into Timboon and return. Later in life went on a steam passenger train Camperdown to Timboon and knew (somebody??) so returned from Timboon to Warrnambool line junction. up front in the steam engine and years later went in a diesel engine passenger train once again to Timboon, and guess it was the last train on the line. Fond memories.
