Can spare a moment to drop a pin on a map?
The Amy Gillett Foundation and CrowdSpot have launched “BikeSpot2023”. This project was initially launched in 2020 in Victoria with great success. It has now been funded by the Commonwealth government as part of the Safe Cycling Program and designed to identify safe and unsafe spots for bike riding.
This project asks the community to “make your mark” on the BikeSpot map detailing where they believe it is both safe and unsafe for cyclists on the road. It involves dropping pins on a digital map and leaving comments about why it is safe/unsafe.
We believe it is important to target problematic spots for riding and improve our safety when out on your bike on any of the rail trails.
The website will be open for submission until late January 2024.
