This section traverses the picturesque Blackbutt Ranges and has had the rails and sleepers removed. It can be used by walkers, horse and bike riders though it is understood that he surface is only suitable for mountain bikes at this stage. In addition when the rails were removed the bridges were also removed so all bridges have low level bypasses. Not a problem in the present drought but could pose difficulties n wet weather.
The development of this section has been driven by the Linville Pioneer, Charity & Sporting Club over many years.
To date development of rail trails in Queensland has been limited so this is a chance for people in south east Queensland to show support for more rail trails by attending the opening.
