The Mornington Community Safelink is a proposed Trail that will run alongside the Heritage Railway Line, from the end of Peninsula Link Trail, at Moorooduc Station, to the Mornington Station on the corner of Yuilles and Watts Roads, and into Main St Mornington.
It will connect to the Harrap Creek Trail, that runs to the Briars and Mt.Martha.
The last kilometre of the Peninsula Link Trail already runs alongside the old railway line, which the Mornington Railway Preservation Society want to restore, to extend their existing weekend steam train operation between Moorooduc and Mornington to Baxter. Its about 6km long.
Please see more information HERE – you can help by signing the petition, following the Safelink on Facebook, and talking to local Councillors and Politicians.
