Get your bikes or walking shoes out and try the newest 2km section of the Wadandi Track in Western Australia.
Park your car at the Vasse Trail Head located near the Vasse Village centre and ride or walk the leisurely 4.5km to the Carbunup River. This 9km return trip is perfect for families and young children and passes through some amazing natural scenery.
Why not add a bit more to your adventure by adding in a detour to the Vasse Dawson Playground or take a short ride to explore the Franklin Wetlands Reserve.
This section of the Wadandi Track has been a joint undertaking by the Vasse Developer; Hanson Property Group and the City of Busselton. Lotterywest also contributed grant funding to the tune of $120,000.
The Wadandi Track follows the old railway line that once linked Flinders Bay in Augusta to Geographe Bay in Busselton. The vision, once complete, will be a 109km trail starting at the Busselton Jetty and finishing in Augusta.
With 26km of the track still to be constructed within the City of Busselton, the focus now turns to bridging the Carbunup River and extending the track through to the Marybrook Trail head.
