The Northern Rivers Rail Trail (NRRT) has been awarded Gold in Tourist Attractions and Silver in Adventure Tourism at the 2025 NSW Tourism Awards, recognising its unique blend of leisure and adventure experiences.
NRRT regional lead Dean Cooper said the recognition reflected the trail’s broad appeal and growing impact. “Winning Gold in Tourist Attractions and Silver in Adventure Tourism shows how the rail trail is resonating with a wide range of visitors,” Dean said. “Whether you’re here for a relaxed day out or a multi-day cycling adventure, the trail offers something truly special.”
This year, the rail trail team focused on expanding and refining the visitor experience, guided by community input and a commitment to continuous improvement. Accessibility upgrades, new wayfinding, and activations have helped make the trail more inclusive and engaging.
