There is a small detour and closure along the Old Beechy Rail Trail between the 42km & 43km markers effective from Thursday 21 July 2016 until Friday 12 August 2016.
The detour is due to logging operations being carried out in a section close to the trail. During the trail closures and detours period, walkers and cyclists are advised to take care and watch for logging vehicles, and observe all warning signage and other traffic control instructions in place.

Feb 2022 – Trail closed from Wimba to Furgason. Roads with similar alignment are available. Beware of logging trucks. Always check with the local council for closures beforehand. https://www.colacotway.vic.gov.au/Parks-Recreation/Old-Beechy-Rail-Trail
