The Macedon Ranges Shire Council 23/24 Budget includes $6 million to progress construction on the Woodend to Riddells Creek Shared Trail project – $1.7 million of which is allocated for the next stage of works around the Woodend area.
The project team is currently finalising planning approvals with key stakeholders for the next stage of works, being Stage 1B between Woodend and Macedon Regional Park. It is anticipated that there will be an announcement soon around works getting underway for the next stage of the Council’s priority project.
The project’s proposed alignment is now available here which includes a cross section of the path’s construction.
Macedon Ranges Shire Council is targeting completion of stages one and two of the project by the end of June 2024. The goal for this project is to deliver a 24km trail for walking, running, low-volume cycling and its overall budget is $11.24 million which is also supported by the Victorian Government through the Crisis Committee of Cabinet – Infrastructure Stimulus Fund.
