After quite a few years break, Rail Trails Australia volunteers were back at a major show, letting thousands of people know about the many rail trails around Australia.
Being Melbourne in Victoria, which is home to Australia’s most developed rail trail network, most people were aware of rail trails and had been on one or two of the most popular. However they were not aware of how many there were in Victoria, let alone the rest of Australia.
Quite a few people were also not aware of our website to provide this information and were looking forward to finding out about more rail trails on it.
We all enjoyed talking to so many people about rail trails. Given all the restrictions of the last few years, it was also great for the RTA volunteers to catch up in person.
There was some cost incurred in being an exhibitor at the show, so thank you to our members and donors who allow this key role of RTA to continue.
We look forward to being able to do this in other states in the near future.
