Railtrails Australia is holding a planning/social weekend at Seymour on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June 2005 and members are welcome to attend, though numbers are limited.
We will not actually be staying on a rail trail but keeping with the old railways theme by staying in sleeping carriages from the old Adelaide Express, in Seymour’s railway yard!
Saturday afternoon will be devoted to planning our activities over the next year and how we can assist the development of more rail trails. This will be held in an old Victorian Railways carriage. This will be followed by dinner in the old signal box. Sunday will be a social day with some bike riding and perhaps inspection of some prospective rail trails. A few people may stay Sunday night for more socializing and riding on Monday (Victorian Queens Birthday holiday).
Seymour is 100km north east of Melbourne and has regular V/line inter-urban and country passenger trains. Accommodation is $15 per night and Saturday night’s meal is being catered for. We look forward to seeing some other members there. If you are interested please contact us at the address below.
