The end of the 2024-2025 financial year saw the end of our 2024 round of grants, and we’re delighted to congratulate four successful applicants on completing their proposed projects.
Three combined groups (Tumbarumba-Rosewood Rail Trail Committee, Tumbarumba Historical Society inc. and Tumbarumba Mens Shed inc.) repaired and added a newly-acquired 1960s ganger’s inspection cart to their existing fettler display at Rosewood Station.
RTA helped fund the cost of materials and construction of locally-made water fountains at Auburn and Watervale on the Riesling Rail Trail. The Riesling Trail Management Committee funded the installation themselves, and contributed many volunteer hours to the project.
The East Gippsland Rail Trail Committee of Management updated and reprinted brochures to promote the rail trail (businesses who would like to stock the updated brochures can contact the volunteer committee of management via eastgippslandrailtrail.com.au).
Progressing Cobden used their grant to provide signage at key points of the Camperdown Timboon Rail Trail to assist rail trail users to navigate their way into Cobden township and back to the rail trail.

Hi, Yes John W. Cook, a western district guy. Born and bred at Camperdown, Was a "cub" and "boy scout", Camped at the Curdies River Bridge and walked into Timboon and back.
Any rough timetable when work on the Merretts Rd Glenfyne/ Curdies River Bridge maybe ereopened again for us bike riders that I had walked along 60 plus years ago. Cheers
