Start of Port Fairy to Warrnambool Rail Trail (Victoria)
The Mayor of Moyne Shire, Ken Gale, Councillor Glenys Phillpot from Warrnambool, Ian Bodycoat and Michael Halls, secretary and treasurer respectively of the Committee of Rail Trail Management, each took a spade and moved the first soil on the new trail.
Prior to this action, the Rail Trail Project Co-ordinator, Dean Robertson, congratulated and thanked the local Shires, State and Federal Governments, Friends of the Trail, the Rail Trail Committee, and all involved in bringing the project to this stage.
The trail is planned to be completed by the end of 2009. More details of ceremony are in the next issue of the newsletter.
