Update on Victoria’s Great Southern Rail Trail Extension
Rail Trails Australia is excited to share an update of the progress of the Great Southern Rail Trail Extension from Nyora to Leongatha as at May 2021.
This is a $6 million project is made up from the Regional Infrastructure Fund of $500,000, Local Sports Infrastructure Fund of $800,000 and the South Gippsland Shire Council fund of $4.7m.
The 36km of shared gravel trail will be suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders. It is understood that construction is ahead of time and Leongatha to Nyora is due for completion in December 2021.
