The Yarra Valley Trail project in Victoria is rolling ahead!
According to the Yarra Ranges Council, works are continuing on stage 1A of the Yarra Valley Trail which is a rail trail from Lilydale to Yering, on the way to Yarra Glen. The old railway has been removed and stockpiled for future use of heritage railways and the original trail ballast has been compacted in preparation for the trail toppings.
The Yarra Valley Trail is a new 40 kilometres section of trail, connecting Lilydale with Yarra Glen and Healesville, then across to the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail, creating a valley-wide loop
The trail is due to open to the public in October this year.
