Register for news updatesFeasibility Study for a 105 km Trail in Western Australia
The proposed 105 km-long Beverley to Narrogin Transport Trail could soon connect 6 Wheatbelt towns, offering cyclists, hikers, trail runners and horse riders a scenic route.
The Shire of Pingelly, in partnership with the Shires of Beverley, Brookton, Cuballing and Narrogin, secured $50,000 from the Western Australian Bicycle Network (WABN) grant program to conduct a feasibility study for the proposed trail.
With its gently rolling landscapes, rich agricultural heritage and proud small towns, the Wheatbelt is well-suited for active tourism, offering an accessible and scenic environment for cycling, hiking and horse riding. These projects would offer new outdoor recreation opportunities for locals and boost local economies along the route.
The study will assess environmental impacts, engineering requirements, community support and the trail’s potential to showcase the region’s cultural history. Pending the study’s findings, funding will then be sought for construction.
The trail would intersect the proposed Narrogin to Williams Rail Trail which the Shires of Williams and Narrogin are undertaking a separate feasibility study on. The Williams to Narrogin Rail Trail could ultimately link to the Collie-Darkan Rail Trail, further strengthening long distance links across the region.
