Safer crossing for Yarra Valley trails
The unstoppable Yarra Ranges Council have been at it again, with pedestrian-activated traffic lights installed at the increasingly busy Beresford Rd, near the trailhead behind Lilydale Railway Station. The road and crossing, which serves the 40km Warburton Rail Trail and currently 7.5km Yarra Valley Trail, have also been slightly realigned to improve safety.
Cyclists and walkers now have less time to wait at Beresford Rd before heading off towards Warburton or Yering. There’s more relief for them at Coldstream, with a toilet block completed for those who don’t want to walk 750m into the town and back again, or locals using the new pump track.
