Iconic Gippsland rail trail (in Victoria) to be extended
Following a $6m grant from the Victorian Government to the Wellington and South Gippsland Shire Councils, the Great Southern Rail Trail in Victoria’s Gippsland region will become a continuous off-road track from Nyora to Yarram.
Following a $6m grant from the Victorian Government to the Wellington and South Gippsland Shire Councils, the Great Southern Rail Trail in Victoria’s Gippsland region will become continuous from Nyora to Yarram.
In South Gippsland the funds will be applied to extedn the rail trail 20.5km from Welshpool to Alberton, which will join up with an existing trail that links Alberton and Yarram.
The proposed extension would see the rail trail grow to being 135km long, plus the side trail to Port Welshpool.
