The Friends of the Bendigo Kilmore Rail Trail have done a huge amount of work for the O’Keefe Rail Trail and RTA’s northern Victoria regional representative Jenny Mustey attend their recent AGM. It was terrific to meet many of the members and listen to all the various projects they have achieved over the last 12 months, as well as their advocacy work for future developments for rails trails within the region and beyond. We also had the opportunity to hear from Nicola Duncliff-Wells from Bike Bendigo who have been doing some wonderful work with the City of Greater Bendigo Council on the local riding trail network. Re-elected President Colin Scott presented his report, as well as an update on the recent floods which impacted parts of the O’Keefe Rail Trail. Pleasing to hear that the City of Greater Bendigo have worked quickly to assess and repair where possible and most of the trail is now open and accessible. The other members of the Executive are Vice President Adrian Cummins, Secretary Diane Bourne, Ass. Secretary Paul Ferguson and Treasurer Margie Joyce. Congratulations to all for continuing their involvement and leadership of the FBKRT.
We wish all members well as they continue to work together to improve the trail’s facilities and advocate for its connection through to Kilmore.
